Paragraph 9.27: Notes "preference is given to out-of-centre sites that are located next to an established industrial estate or business park over other out of centre sites, as this will provide the opportunity to maximise the use of public transport". This assertion is considered questionable as some existing estates do not have existing public transport services of any note (Brympton Way for example) or other desirable transport characteristics. Para 9.25 - Offices. It would be a pity to build new office accommodation in a conservation area. The Bancombe Trading Estate already has mixed use - eg Dentist, Insurance HQ, hairdressers, etc.

To justify the policy on local terms, there should be a narative about recent out-migration of offices from the town centre (SSDC, Tax, etc), and the premises currenlty lying empty (Keymarkets, Middle Street). I would suggest this policy is only really relevant to Yeovil and Chard (as the proposed heiracy means the entire settlement will be included for most South Somerset settlements.
