Strategic Objectives The strategic objectives are felt to be a good summary of the needs of the people within our community. However it is felt that in many cases the strategic policies do not go into enough detail about how these policies will meet the objectives. For example the first objective is to provide 'sufficient high quality housing'. 2.2 The Local Plan Review should make it clear which policies are strategic and which are non-strategic policies in accordance with the NPPF paragraph 21 and footnote 13. The Council have attempted to do this as referenced in paragraph 1.18 and listed in Appendix 1. Current Approach 3.1 bullet point 'Enable housing to meet all needs'. This 'needs' need to be quantified. When I questioned Jan Gammon as to if she had ever been to our village, she replied she had not. According to our Parish Council, there has not been any kind of robust village consultation as to what our needs are here in the village. There needs to be more consultation with the people who actually live here, rather than being dictated to by Councillors, developers and land owners.

This section is very weak on the need to act to deliver SSDC commitments with regard to the declared "climate and ecological crisis". It needs to refer to protecting and restoring habitats, protecting and creating more woodland. These are seen as crucial in the government's Committee on Climate Change recommendations.
