Charlton Horethorne Parish Council saw no need to comment on the local plan review during the consultation period but have recently become aware of points made by Grass Roots Planning (comment ID 609) in their submission of 6th September which have potentially far reaching consequences for Charlton Horethorne.

There are a number of services and facilities present in the settlement including a primary school, doctor's surgery, library, post office, village hall, public house and a small number of shops including a co-op, which result in it performing a local service role, both for its residents and those in the surrounding rural hinterland.

The New 'Village' Classification
The reclassification of Tatworth as a village for planning purposes is not resisted in itself, as it is felt that small scale, infill housing is appropriate. However very little detail is given regarding the distribution of these new homes amongst the newly defined 'villages'.
