Education expansion to meet demand for housing/proposed housing is key here. The main new Primary schools of Brimsmore ( without full funding at present), Keyford & Mudford are more or less secured, however the feasibility for and funding for the necessary secondary expansion has not been secured, but will need to keep at pace with the housing development. Therefore it would be best to list education expansion within the services/infrastructure needs in Yeovil.

Yeovil is the main town in the district and the Preferred Options allocates a relatively small number of key sites for development. It is understood that work is ongoing with the developers to bring these sites forward; PHSW has an interest in the Lufton key site. There is some further opportunity for growth around the town however SSDC may wish – in order to ensure an appropriate level of ongoing delivery of housing across the Plan area – to keep the opportunity open of distributing more dwell
