We note in paragraph 8.27 that "The MOD have identified that there will be a need for additional housing for service personnel and their families within a 10 mile radius of RNAS Yeovilton within the plan period". However, it is noted that MOD housing purchase plans deliberately exclude Ilchester because of their policy to prevent 'ghettoisation'. Therefore any dwellings being proposed will be for the normal 'market' and 'affordable' developments.

A few points I would like to make re - The Review of the Local Plan: Transition towards a more locally directed & sustainable plan for future development - I support the Council's view that it is the communities themselves who are best placed (albeit with guidance) to recognise their needs and direct the changes that are required to fulfil them. the proposed development of new homes / business is way too large in comparison to the existing village . the infrastructure as described is inadequate and out of date . the doctors surgery is virtually non existent and if rumours are to to be believed will soon be actually non existent . the schools as they are could not accommodate the influx of potentially hundreds of children . the post office is now a counter in the local shop/garage manned as far as I can tell by whomever happens to be ser
