* A further increase of 210 new dwellings in the village is not considered sustainable given the current status of the medical practice and road traffic. It is noted that Policy SSl iii is that provision for development will be made that meets l ocal housing need. There is no significant housing need for Martock.

Paragraph 8.41ff Housing
The Neighbourhood Plan advocates priority for development within the built-up area boundary (BUAB) over greenfield sites outside it. We would like to see this also in the Local Plan (not least because it reflects NPPF and Local Plan policy). We would like to see brownfield development specifically mentioned and prioritised. 330 new dwellings is far too high for this rural centre and I question whether this number is really required, especially given country wide lack of local health care provision and local relative lack of employment.
