Flooding Doubling the number of houses in East Coker will reduce the amount of  land available for rainwater absorption, will divert it onto roads and towards river.  There is already at least 3 inches of water lying on the roads in times of heavy rain, on the increase due to climate change, if more land is built on and concreted over, there will be 6 inches, so serious flooding As the surface water flows under the A37 to Barwick, flooding will again threaten Barwick, which had solved its form

I object to the continued insistence of the need for an Urban Extension to Yeovil on the basis of current ONS population figures. This objection was not specifically addressed in the inspector's interim report but would have been if inspection had continued. This aspect of the objection is also covered in my objection ID No 357 6/8/13. It is noted the idea of removing the idea of a true Urban Extension is gaining traction in the reduction of numbers and creation of 2 sites. If current Omission S

The statistics  base - showing many relevant data gaps -  on which future housing need projections have been estimated by SSDC, indicate that the present population trend is a net minus figure as deaths are more than births.  So that it would seem that we are being asked to permanently sacrifice heritage, landscape and future food resources which the extant population understands, values and wishes to preserve, to accommodate European economic migrants, possibly benefit tourists,  whose overwhel

I object to the continued level of housing requirement; there has been no review of the earlier assumptions.  The ONS has issued further data in late 2013 which confirms that the average household size has not changed in England in the last ten years. There is no justification for using 2.1.  A value of at least 2.3 is more realistic, and this reduces the requirement by some 400 dwellings. The Proposed Modifications - the declared housing requirement - takes no account of the new housing now ap

I object to the proposed modification of the development in the East Coker area as it hasn't been modified it to a reasonable size taking into consideration the grade 1 agricultural land that will be lost and/or affected. This is an area of natural beauty and it will be completely spoilt. With so many empty properties in Yeovil already, I cannot see the need for more housing. Where is the additional employment, school places, policing and hospital facilities for the increase in population in t

I object to the  plan, and its modification, because, although the number of houses built would be less at Keyford than originally proposed( a step in the right direction), the land suggested on which they would be built is still Grade 1 agricultural land and this goes against Government guidelines.  Although I am sceptical that the need for new housing in Yeovil is as great as the Council is suggesting,  if such houses have to be built, Brownfield sites,  not Greenfield, should be used and why

The inspector, on declaring the previous plan unsound strongly suggested that South Somerset District Council should not tinker with the existing plan and resubmit it, but that is exactly what they have done, still proposing to build on Grade 1 agricultural land towards the Cokers as part of a mini version of the previous unsound submission and now proposing to build out towards Brympton to make up the shortfall in numbers. All the council have achieved is setting one part of Yeovil against anot

I would like to have chosen more than one of the indicators as to why I object.  Although the number of houses may have been reduced the issue of building on Prime Agricultural Grade 1 land has clearly not been addressed and remains unacceptable.  It is ludicrous to lack concern for the future welfare of this country and its sustainability in favour of a very short term vision.  Increased traffic from the Keyford site and unrealistic walking and cycling.  Travel by car required for work and to s

I object to the proposed modification because it doesn't reduce the scale of the development in the East Coker/Barwick area to a reasonable size, considering the quality of the countryside, especially the natural beauty and high quality of the agricultural land, plus the need to retain a green belt. I don't believe traffic issues have been resolved satisfactorily and I don't believe the development will benefit the town or the people in any appreciable way.

I object to the Yeovil Sustainable Urban Extension. In any way shape or form.  I object to the impact the development will have on the existing roads. The current infrastructure will not support an increase of traffic arising from the proposed numbers of housing and businesses.  The surrounding single lane roads already suffer from traffic build up as soon as one lane is closed for whatever reason; maintenance, accident etc.  And there is obviously no room for more. I do not believe that an inc
