I object to the selection of the Coker/Keyford site because: 1. it destroys irreplaceable Grade I agricultural land 2. 1565 dwellings is nowhere near sufficient to justify a further secondary school. Development to the south is not sustainable because it will add further cross-town traffic as parents take and collect schoolchildren. Development should be spread around the north and north-west, closer to existing schools.  3. The same objections (para 2) apply when employment locations are consid

I object to the current strategy for the distribution of new housing across SSDC over the plan period in respect of over concentration on large scale development.

I object to the proposal for 800 houses within the East Coker Parish in that it would not be consistent with the NPPF in the following ways: a) Sustainability - building houses in an UE connected to the town by a steep / long hill will inevitably mean a serious reduction in energy sustainability owing to transport journey costs. I have not had the time to estimate these but models elsewhere have shown a 12% + increase in overall energy consumption for such sites. b) The road at Hendford Hill (to

I object to the urban extensions that are proposed on any Grade 1 Agricultural land when alternatives have not been fully considered and explored.  Town Centres are changing and likely to provide brownfield, the cattle market remains unused and many homes at Wyndham Park and other locations remain unsold & unoccupied.  The steep escarpment into Yeovil deters unmotorised transport and the traffic flow is already very slow at peak times into Yeovil town centre.

I acknowledge the requirement for a local plan/urban extension but object to the revised plan that includes two sites on the following grounds: * Traffic There has been no traffic study carried out for the North East option, how can this option even be considered without knowing what the impact would be of an increase in numbers of not just domestic traffic but also industrial traffic going to the proposed employment site, will have on the current road infrastructure. This will not only affect

I OBJECT to the plan to build houses in these two locations. There are already sites around Yeovil which have planning permission for more houses and the data being used to project future population and employment needs is not up to date. Any new housing that is justified should be built on brown field sites, which would improve Yeovil's townscape, and on a limited scale in the surrounding villages where we need affordable housing so that young people can stay near their families and keep our vi

I object to the process used to get public comment to  the Main Modifications. The document is difficult to read and requires an understanding of Planning laws and jargon. It is unfair to call this public "consultation". The modifications should have been translated into a comprehensive easy to read document for the general public to understand with a simple method for people to respond.

I OBJECT to the modification of the local plan.  The north side of Yeovil is already overdeveloped and there is already housing choice.  Building on this site will forfeit (i) Grade I agricultural land (when brown field sites are available), (ii) biodiversity and geodiversity- the site contains a natural habitat for fauna, (iii)  the heritage ancient monument site on Dunnock Lane and (iv) the rural landscape.   Once built on the land and the landscape will be gone forever. There will be huge vi

I object to the modification to the Local Plan which would result in the building of in excess of 700 houses between Yeovil & Mudford in the area around Primrose Lane.  The north side of Yeovil has already been excessively overdeveloped to such an extent that there are very large developments with very poor services which are a great distance from the centre of town. It makes much more sense to develop the south of Yeovil as originally planned as this would balance out the overall shape of the
