Langport / Huish Episcopi
We support the identification of additional housing, employment and community growth at Langport / Huish Episcopi.
We further support the principle for strategic growth to the south east of the settlement, but disagree that development in this direction should be for employment use only. The area around Huish Episcopi is considered suitable, in terms of its character, identity, accessibility, role and function to accommodate housing or mixed use development.

Huish Episcopi Parish Council objects to inclusion of the small field by the railway line (A see attached map) which, with the cricket field and school playing fields, has been identified by the Council as a long held aspiration to form part of the green recreational area within the parish.
The SSDC Playing Pitch Strategy data shows a deficiency of pitches in the Langport and Huish Episcopi area, and this shortfall is also highlighted in the Infrastru

I have just been made aware that the final round of public consultation is already underway in respect of proposed land development for the creation of 105 new homes to be built on land predominately to the north and east of Kelways. This development is, I understand, in addition to the houses that have already been built on the site of Old Kelways.
My first concern is that as a resident of Wearne for over 15 years, this is the first I have heard of this development and would like to know what

We have viewed the Local Plan 2006 - 2028, particularly with reference to the Langport/ Huish Episcopi area. We have the following comments to make, which are of concern to us:
* Although your narrative states that the aim is not to merge the communities of Langport/ Huish Episcopi and Wearne, it appears that this is in fact exactly what will occur.
