Proposed Submission Local Plan 2006-2028 Yeovil - Vision and Proposals What should the Local Plan deliver? Infrastructure Infrastructure

  • Comment ID: 2132
Para. 5.59 Query whether non-highways measures are only 'necessary'. Dealing with traffic is about demand versus capacity; when dealing with a very large new site it can be as easy, or easier, to reduce demand as to increase capacity. Thus these measures are just as 'critical' as highway infrastructure, above. Cf. word 'crucial' in 5.63, 5.64.

Chapter 11: Travel can play a big part in healthy and productive lives. It would seem sensible if the links between health and transport could be recognised more explicitly in the plan. For instance, linear parks and sustainable transport corridors can provide for both green space and movement, or well designed streets can be places for play as well as travel.

Proposed Submission Local Plan 2006-2028 Yeovil - Vision and Proposals What should the Local Plan deliver? East Coker and North Coker Buffer Zone East Coker and North Coker Buffer Zone and Policy YV3

  • Comment ID: 2152
Policy YV3: East Coker and North Coker Buffer Zone: Last paragraph – The statement '... unless it can be proven that there would be no significant effect by the proposal' is not needed as the it in effect repeats the previous part of the same sentence '... is compatible with the conservation objectives of a Natura 2000 site.' Natura 2000 site should pluralised as there is more than one in the District.

Para. 7.71 "The Parish Plan established that Stoke sub Hamdon was seen as a good place to live that could benefit from some improvements. The strong community spirit, comprehensive range of facilities, access to Ham Hill Country Park and Community Newsletter were seen as the most important features of living in Stoke sub Hamdon. Some of the areas of concern reflect national issues such as crime, litter and light pollution but the main concerns specific to Stoke sub Hamdon were the cost of housin

Proposed Submission Local Plan 2006-2028 Settlement Strategy Scale of Growth for the District and the Main Settlements Employment Jobs and Employment Land Provision Policy SS3: Delivering New Employment Land

  • Comment ID: 2123
Table 1: Employment Land Justifications: It is noted that employment land needs at Yeovil and Wincanton will largely be met through existing commitments/allocations. While the argument for flexibility in providing suitable land is understood, the document could give clearer evidence why 5ha (and not 10ha or else) provides an appropriate level of flexibility.
