The Plan acknowledges that "over 40% of the District's population live itl Rural Settlements", but fails to consider a commensurate balance of appropriate growth and development in these rural areas. An Urban Extension does not help the sustainability of local services in the communities of East Coker and Barwick. Ref Spatial Portrait of South Somerset - Health and Well Being

"5.34 In undertaking this work it became clear that a buffer zone for East Coker and North Coker would be required" Demonstrates inappropriateness of nominating South and West Option as ideal for sustainable development.

I object to the Yeovil Urban Extension on the basis that it will affect the health and well being of the residents of East Coker. The Plan and Sustainability Appraisal does not assess the impact on the Urban Extension on the East Coker services such as the Village Store and East Coker Primary School. It is envisioned that as the Urban Extension will have its own shops and schools, there will be a significant negative impact on those of East Coker.
