SOUTH PETHERTON, SUPPORTING TEXT 7.57-7.68 AND SOUTH PETHERTON INSET 1 David Wilson Homes (DWH) object to the failure of the Local Plan to make an allocation to meet the requirements for new housing set out in Policy SS5. 2 There appears to be no consistency in the approach being taken to the identification of development sites across the towns and settlements in the District. In some instances sites are allocated on the Proposals Map; in others areas are shown for search for a site; in others

7.61 This statement does not accord with the policies relating to the allocation of housing and employment land. "Allowing for additional employment growth" when the evidence base clearly shows none is required and "modest housing growth" when in fact the allocation is disproportionately high when compared with most other rural centre allocations and despite the known constraints of the local infrastructure. 7.62 Scale of growth is not "commensurate with Martock" and indeed many other rural cen

South Petherton/What Will the Local Plan Deliver? Comments in support of the following Local Plan text as follows: 7.61 - Agree that South Petherton should continue Local Plan designation as a Rural Centre within the Settlement Hierarchy, as per our representations made in respect of Policy SS1. 2.4.1 The Proposals Map for South Petherton includes one Housing Development Site under Policy SS5 which is an extant commitment for 31 dwellings, thus is not included within the additional requirement for 94 dwellings. There are no further sites identified. 2.4.2 The site in control of Persimmon Homes was considered as part of the SHLAA in 2010 (ref: N/SOPE/0007). The site is located on land between Lightgate Lane and Hospital Road. The potential yield for the site was suggested by the Council
