I am writing to you in relation to the proposal development of housing north of Newport and next door to Wearne.

My family moved to Wearne nearly three years ago, and one of the main attractions was the open green spaces and fields surrounding the area.

Since living here, we have also come to appreciate the slight detachment from Huish Episcopi and Langport, as it offers us peace and tranquility. Whilst I accept that housing development is an important issue, I do not accept that it has to be where you are proposing it should be. The Perrin Construction proposal makes far more logical sense, which is to the west of Newtown Road. This is also closer to the town centre for everyday facilities and services.

I'm urging you to reconsider the housing development options, because otherwise you will make existing local residents very unhappy and disillusioned.

What changes do you suggest to make the DPD legally compliant or sound?
If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate at the oral part of the examination?
