Nowhere in this chapter or in earlier chapters

of this LPR is there an acknowledgement that

Employment uses are not just the traditional B

class uses and that other employment

generating uses are acceptable on Employment

sites. For the sake of clarity and transparency

the LPR ought to identify those other use

classes which could be acceptable.

South Somerset appears to be leaning towards

B class uses only on identified employment

sites, this would be at odds with National Policy

and an inflexible approach which will restrict

South Somerset’s ability to compete at the

regional level by meeting the full range of

industrial and other needs.
