Monitoring/Indicators There are no Historic Environment Indicators provided in this section. We would again reiterate our concern at the lack of any tangible mention of the historic environment in this part of the document. The attached advice provides a list of possible indicators that may not all be applicable to South Somerset but should provide a good indication of useful indicators. Equally the SA has a comprehensive list that should be explored.

We note Core Indicator E1. The Environment Agency would welcome inclusion of more a more robust measure - refusal of permission for developments where an Environment Agency objection on water quality grounds can not be overcome.

The core strategy lacks monitoring proposals to assess any increase in people pressure at key development locations on the SL&M Special protection Area and Ramsar site.
