Paragraph 6.63: Regarding a feasibility study for Chard Junction, it is noted that SSC 'would need to undertake such a study'. Whilst this would be one way of progressing the study, any interested party could undertake such a study should they wish to do so. In fact many recent station re-openings have been the result of studies funded by developers. We would strongly support any proposals to re-open the railway station serving the town and we are disappointed with the suggestion that there is not sufficient evidence to protect the land for future rail use within the Core Strategy.
