Policy SS1 Settlement Hierarchy identifies Langport, along with Huish Episcopi, as a local market town. Whilst its potential for growth is considered more limited than some of the other primary Market Towns, Langport/Huish Episcopi has been re-graded from a rural centre emphasising the plan for growth in the town. We support the designation of Langport/Huish Episcopi within the proposed hierarchy of settlements.

If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate at the oral part of the examination? Yes
If you wish to participate at the oral part of the examination, please outline why you consider this to be necessary: To enable the Inspector to explore the issues and amend the plan to make it sound.
