The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a document which sets out how the Council will engage and communicate with the public and other interested parties on planning matters, including the preparation of the Local Plan, and on planning applications.

The latest update to the SCI has been prepared at the start of the Council's progress towards carrying out an Early Review of the South Somerset Local Plan (2006 - 2028).

The SCI has been revised to take account of new legislation set out in the Localism Act (2011) and elsewhere.
